The Figures

Vigilante Spider-Man

In the new Amazing Spider-Man movie we again get a bit of origin story for Peter Parker becoming Spider-Man. This vigilante look is an early disguise Peter uses before he makes a more familiar Spider-Man outfit.

His head has simple red mask with shades on along with a black cap on top. The rest of his outfit is all black save for his hands. He has a little bit of torso detail for his black shirt. He also has open black jacket and a short waist cover to give that long t-shirt look. There are no accessories included for him. Not much to him and not exactly recognizable as Spider-Man. The good thing about this figure is a simple head swap gives you an instant urban look character.

Not Spidey’s best “learning the ropes” first costume by a long shot but the figure itself is good for parts.

Yo!

Capt. Stacy

Captain George Stacy is the father of Peter Parker’s first love interest Gwen Stacy.  In the comics he was always a supporter of Spider-Man (and Peter too). In the new movie is he played by actor Denis Leary and seems to be wary of the vigilante Spider-Man with intent to capture him. Will he change his mind in the movie; we’ll have to watch the movie to see!

This figure has one of the better facial matches to the actor in the movie; it’s amazing what a few detail lines here can do. He really does look like Denis Leary. The only negative I would say is the flesh color of his ears on the hairpiece doesn’t match his face.

The rest of his outfit is very reminiscent of the MAX law enforcement minimates. He has a black police torso cover that you can remove and see the police uniform underneath. Great details all around: police logo on his shoulders, tie with lapel clips, belt and even details showing the pockets and pleats on his pants.

He comes with an extra helmet to give the full gear look. For weapons he has a small gun with the same gun holster used for Crossbones and he also has a large automatic rifle. What’s really great is you can mix and match him with the rest of the MAX law enforcement minimates to give him a full squad to work with. Also a simple head swap and you can have a generic police officer too.

This is just a well done figure. He matches the movie actor wonderfully and is the type of figure that has such variety with his outfit that he can be used in so many ways.

For all you Rescue Me fans out there.
