Transforming Thing & Herald Silver Surfer – TRU: Wave 15

Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there. Today my daughter, Emma, is taking over reviewing duties for this Toys R Us wave 15 set.

Hi there and Happy Father’s Day! Today we’re reviewing Thing and Silver Surfer.

Packaging

They’re packed in a green box like most Marvel minimate are in. There’s a picture of Spider-Man, Wolverine and the Avengers on the front and pictures of some of the other guys on the back. But Hulk looks like a robot on there and the fire guys aren’t the same color as they are on the toys that we have.

The Figures

Transforming Thing

He’s called Transforming Thing but it’s not because he’s a Transformer, it’s because he can look like the regular Thing or can look like this guy called Ben Grimm. Both are neat looking.

Ben Grimm looks like he’s in prison. My dad has these other minimates from the Walking Dead that are in prison too. Ben has a cool space logo on his shirt and arm along with his name-tag.

What’s really neat is he has these parts that you can add to him to create Thing. Some of the pieces are hard to get on. I like how he looks and feels rocky. He’s missing a number 4, they should have put one on his belt. And his rocky hair looks strange, he looks better without it.

I like him and he looks cool but he’s not as big and awesome as Hulk*.

*She’s partial to her two favorite Hulk minimates that she has: Avengers Movie Hulk & Best of Hulk.

Herald Silver Surfer

This Silver Surfer is angry, the other ones we have are much calmer. He is shiny and looks really neat. I don’t like his chest though, it looks like the face of a bug with the big eyes and mandibles.

He comes with his surfboard and a stand that makes him fly. He also has a really awesome looking space portal and I like the black cosmic stuff on it too. And he also has two purple fireballs for his hands.
