Greetings one and all. It is I, MINI-MYTE, here with a guest review of the latest minimate vehicle released from Diamond Select Toys; the Munster Koach with Hot Rod Herman. This black & white set (available through specialty shops) is the first of two planned releases. The other being a colored version that will be made available through Toys R Us sometime in the near future. It should also be noted that this is the first appearance of any Munster in minimate form.

The Vehicle
Munster Koach
The Koach is a sight to behold for sure. It’s one half hot rod and one half hearse. This version is painted in a black and white color scheme to replicate the way it would have appeared on television back in the good ol’ days.
This car just oozes major detail from the protruding engine / exhaust system to the distinctive looking grill to the massive passenger compartment to the varying sized rubber tires. Even the little touches are there in the form of front, side and rear lanterns; coffin handles on either side of the engine, the four mounting steps at the base of the doors to the curtains draped in the windows.
As an added bonus, the car features a hinged roof that allows one to easily add extra minimates to the Koach with ease. The Koach can easily seat six minimates and by my count there are four more Munster minimates still unaccounted for. Wink, wink, hint, hint DST.
MMC Score – 10 out of 10
The Figure
Hot Rod Herman
The very first Munster minimate is decked out in his finest racing attire. Herman comes equipped with a newly sculpted leather jacket / studded belt combo and a brand new head sculpt featuring a racing cap and goggles. He also comes with a few pre-existing parts as well, most notably the Frankenstein monster’s feet and neck electrodes accessory. Finally, Herman has one of the most accurate looking likenesses I’ve ever seen on a minimate. That big grin of his is a dead ringer for the late Fred Gwynne.
Overall this minimate/vehicle set is a must for minimate enthusiasts. My only gripe is that we don’t have the rest of the Munster family in minimate form to fill this gem of a car up with. Are you guys listening DST? A family four pack would be ideal. Oh and while you’re at it, throw in the Dragula with Grandpa as a second vehicle for this line.
