My spidey-senses are tingling! There must be a review of a TRU two pack nearby. Read on to find out more true believers…

The box is the expanded window box so you can see both characters along with the accessories in the middle. The character names and control art bust shots are below the windows. The sides have individual control art of each character. On the back are the mini-bios of each character along with group picture of all figures in this wave.

The Figures

Spider-Sense Spider-Man

Spider-Man, Spider-Man, we’ve seen him in just about any form except Spider-Ham.

We’ve seen this costume many times before just with slightly different eyes, muscle detail, spider-logo and/or webbing. The colors are bright and sharp and detail lines are well done. What sets this one apart is this is the first time we have his webbing “wings” on the back of his arms in the regular waves (the “Best of” wave 1 had the web wings first). But the big bonus is his “Spidey-sense” halo done in translucent yellow that fits like a hairpiece in the top of his head. This extra really is a great addition and great recreation of his sense from the comics.

Spider-Man also comes with his trusty webline that we’ve seen many times before. And because minimate are so great with part swapping, you can easily pop his head on other one of the previous versions to give them the “spider-sense” look.

While this is not the best Spider-Man we’ve seen in minimate form, it certainly is a fun figure. This is also a good pairing of characters especially considering Punisher’s first appearance in the comics. And for anyone just getting into minimates this is definitely a great 2-pack to start off your collection.

First Appearance Punisher

Frank Castle as he first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #129. He was out to bump off Spider-Man in his early days. This is the fifth minimate version we’ve seen of Frank so far; version #6 is due in the “Best of” wave 2.

He has great facial details and expression along with a nice slicked back black hairpiece. His torso has a good recreation of his “Punisher” skull that extends past his torso and continued on his waist piece/belt. His arms and legs are black with grey gloves/boots. His belt is really well done and I really like the design of the holster on his right. Included is a leg holster for his knife.

As expected, Punisher comes with lots of weapons. Included is a silver knife, pistol that looks like it has a silencer attached and a silver rifle. His weapons and holsters are great pieces to use for other customs and the dark base body parts also make good fodder.

If I hadn’t seen pictures of the “Best of” version then this would have been my favorite comic Punisher to date.
