I would have never guessed that variations of the popular characters Hulk and Iron Man would combine together to make one of the best Toys R Us two packs released in quite some time. You definitely want to see what’s inside …
Packaging
The box is the expanded window box so you can see both characters along with the accessories in the middle. The character names and control art bust shots are below the windows. The sides have individual control art of each character. On the back are the mini-bios of each character along with group picture of all figures in this wave. The silver “TRU exclusive” foil mark is also on the front.
The Figures
Rescue Armor Iron Man
Stark’s assistant, Pepper Potts, ended up getting a piece of shrapnel near her heart during a terrorist attack. Tony created an arc reactor for her and a nice shiny suit to go with.
This is one of the best streamlined Iron Man minimate armors that we’ve ever seen, only the Modern Heroic Age is equal to this quality. She has a slip on mask piece for the helmet; I prefer the sculpted helmets but the details on this are top notch. Underneath you have Pepper’s face; I like the added freckles. She comes with an excellent ginger ponytail hairpiece.
The details and paint apps on her base arms, torso and legs are incredible. All the lines are clearly visible with clean and intricate designs. This armor has a Silver Centurion vibe going for it. I also really like the gauntlets and boots as well; not too slim but not too bulky either.
For accessories she comes with a yellow blast base and a clear base plate. What’s nice about this figure is since all the details are on the base torso, legs and arms it makes it easy to swap parts with other armors (especially the older Silver Centurion figures) to create a higher detailed figure.
You definitely don’t want to pass this figure by; it is a must have Iron Man armor.
Soviet scientist “The Gremlin” created this monstrosity to help him battle Hulk and Iron Man. I wonder where he got his inspiration for this creation, lol.
This is a perfect reuse of minimate pieces; every part you see here has been used on another figure previously, even the hair. Hairpiece is the flat-top from Colossus with green ears. I love the robotic Hulk face! That giant torso cover and feet are the excellent ones created for Sentinel. The massive gauntlets are from the Hulk Buster armor. And thigh pads are from Marvel NOW Hulk. All these pieces have been repainted with Hulk’s traditional green and purple colors.
But the big bonus is what’s underneath. They’ve included a spare silver robotic head; I love the eyes on this piece. Also included is a spare silver hip piece, hands and feet. So put all these together and you have another figure included. And what’s that on the torso block?? You can see the Gremlin working the controls of his robotic Hulk!
So yes, you need to buy at least two of this two-pack. That way you can display both Robot Hulk and just the robot with the Gremlin and you also get spare Iron Man parts for mixing and matching.
