Two X-Men villains team up for this LCS wave 41 set. It’s always good to get bad guys to add to your minimate ranks but how do they measure up? Read on to find out…

Packaging

The box is the new expanded window box so you can see both characters along with the accessories in the middle. The character names and control art bust shots are below the windows. The sides have individual control art of each character. On the back are the mini-bios of each character along with group picture of all figures in this wave.

The Figures

Mr. Sinister

Big time X-Men villain and all around genius, Mr. Sinister has tormented Xavier’s team for years. There’s always a chance that he’s behind whatever scheme is going on in a current comic arc. Also for the LCS release the variant set has Mr. Sinister’s AoA version.

They really nailed his look in minimate form. The face is perfect with red eyes and diamond on his forehead; the details really stand out on the white skin-tone. Also great match for his short cut hair too.

The hard part of his costume to duplicate is his very unique flowing cape but another great job is done with his. The high collar and strands in the back looks spot on. The only downside is due the size of it, the cape throws the figure off balance. He would have greatly benefitted from the clear base stands that are included in the newer minimate sets.

Lots of detail lines are present all over his body, even with the dark blue base they stand out fairly well. His feet have new sculpted boot fronts to complete his outfit. No accessories for him are included but honestly can’t think of him every carrying anything that would warrant a specific accessory. There’s not a ton of extras for customizing but a quick swap of heads with one of the Black Queens and you have a quick custom Miss Sinister.

In conclusion they have really done well on much needed X-Men villain.

Nimrod

Another X-Men villain, Nimrod, is the robotic mutant-hunting Sentinel from the “Days of Future Past” timeline.  More types of Sentinels are always a good thing … at least for toy collecting (not for mutants).

Nimrod is an impressive minimate and matches very well to his comic design. He has a very basic color scheme but the pearl paint colored job really stands out. He has a large sculpted torso and head cover with some pink details for his robotic face and torso. Surprisingly underneath on the main minimate torso there are some gear details; that’s a really nice touch.

There’s a torso riser between his waist and chest to give him that added height. He also has massive boots and gantlets too. No other accessories but again none really needed. He’s made of some decent pieces for customizing, not to mention great base paint job to work with.

Nimrod is another well executed figure you’ll definitely want to add to your ranks.
