GRMO00

Here are two more fan favorites from Marvel wave 50; Danny Ketch Ghost Rider and Onslaught. Read on to see how these heavy hitters measure up …

Packaging

GRMO01

The box is the expanded window box so you can see both characters along with the accessories in the middle. The character names and control art bust shots are below the windows. The sides have individual control art of each character. On the back are the mini-bios of each character along with group picture of all figures in this wave.

The Figures

Ghost Rider (Danny Ketch)

GRMO02

This is the Danny Ketch version of the Spirit of Vengeance. He became the third Ghost Rider when his sister was attacked he happened upon a motorcycle with the mystical symbol, he touched it and *poof* he’s the new Ghost Rider.
So kids, the lesson for today is don’t touch motorcycles with mystical symbols.
GRMO03 GRMO04
Love the new flame head on this figure. Like the Champions Ghost Rider, Danny’s head is translucent with a white skull painted on the front. He has a great menacing scowl and the translucent blue flame hair is very cool.
GRMO05
He had a modified trench coat with oversized spiked shoulderpads with blue flames on them too (nice touch!). I especially like that you can see the blue torso and thigh details underneath. And even though the coat is a bulky piece you still have articulation at his waist and a surprising range of movement for his arms. The added detailed pieces of his gauntlets, chain belt and boots just add to the quality of this figure.
GRMO06
For an accessory he comes with a chain whip. It’s not the same chain we’ve seen before but rather new piece with a handle along with point at other end. Included is also a clear base stand. He makes an excellent figure for customizing; black base figure with nice highlights, bulky gauntlets and boots, and an incredible transparent skull head.
GRMO07

This is an outstanding figure. I hope they use this one as a template to go back and create a Johnny Blaze version that is up to the same level.

MMC Score – 10 out of 10

Marvel’s Onslaught

GRMO08

So how are you improve a pack that already has one bad-ass figure …. have two bad-ass figures. Onslaught is probably one of the more well-known big bads in X-Men history. If you haven’t checked out the original ’96 storyline, it’s definitely worth reading. Basically Onslaught is an amalgam of Prof X and Magneto consciousness out to cause havoc. You probably don’t see much of Xavier from the outside but trust me, he’s in there ;-)
GRMO09
Onslaught has a great paint job with metallic hot rod red and purple. He has the now familiar Magneto helmet but underneath is darkness with just a pair of white eyes. On the pictures I took I didn’t line up the eyes very well but they do line up correctly.
GRMO10
He has a massive torso cover that goes down to his waist. Those towering shoulder pads really make him stand out. To add to the bulk he has shoulder and thigh covers; let alone some of the largest clawed gauntlets and boots we’ve ever seen in minimate form. I love the sculpting and detail on these pieces.
GRMO11
He also comes with a clear base stand which helps with posing this heavy figure. But what’s the best bonus is under all that armor, detailed on the main torso you can see Xavier!
GRMO12

In conclusion another incredible figure. If it wasn’t for sheer lack of movement due to all the extra sculpted pieces he would be a 10.

MMC Score – 9 out of 10
