The first two waves of The Walking Dead appeared to be very successful with some great figures. Does that trend continue with this third wave? Read on to find out….
Packaging
The packaging is the blister card pack showcasing the figures and accessories. The pack has an insert with The Walking Dead logo. The silver TRU Exclusive foil sticker is on the front. The back shows a group shot of all the figures in this series along with a short bio of each of the two characters included.
The Figures
Carol
Carol is one of the survivors in Rick’s group. Honestly I’m not sure how much her story matches up in the comics vs what’s on the tv show but she is an intriguing character.
She has two hairpieces; one has her blonde hair under a pink knitted cap and the second is her hair without the cap. Both are nice pieces and especially nice to have more regular types of hair with/without accessories. She has good facial details; simple but nice match to the comics.
She has a brown open front coat torso cover matching up with her brown arms. They’ve included a spare set of sea green arms so she can go without the jacket and match her torso. Only problem I noticed is the pegs are a bit too big for the arms to fit but I may try boiling the arms for a little while to loosen them up. Rest is basic set of jeans, grey shoes and flesh colored hands.
Each figure comes with a clear base but no other accessories for Carol. She makes for great fodder with civilian clothes that allow for multiple looks.
In conclusion another solid survivor.
Some of the best figures to build a collection, and especially a zombie horde, are those that can be used for multiple looks. The pole zombie is a good example of this.
It has a nice hairpiece with long brown hair that has a part in the back for the rope to fit through. But the little part doesn’t take away from it if you use it on its own. Wonderfully detailed zombie face underneath. Torso, arms and legs have good details. I especially like the worn out shoes where you can see the grey flesh toes underneath.
The main extra that comes with is the silver pole with tan rope that attaches to the body with a neck loop and attached waist piece. The included clear base allows the pole to connect and stand upright. With a little time and heat you can loosen the ropes for greater movement and posting of the figure. What’s nice is without the rope attached the figure still makes for a good zombie. Even better you can mix and match parts to create more zombies.
Definitely a great zombie to add to your growing horde.
