Venom, Venom and more Venom! Get ready for a symbiote love fest with this “Through the Ages” boxset of everyone’s favorite Spider-Man tormentor, Venom.
The packaging is the tall window box with control art of Venom looming over everyone on top. The sides have control art of the four figures. On the back is a mini-bio of Venom’s history along with group picture of all figures in this box.
Eddie Brock/Venom never looked so good in his “Unleashed” form. If you’ve read my Marvel Looking Back special then you know I’m a big fan of this entire set; and Venom Unleashed is the crown jewel figure.
He comes with three different head/hair pieces. The first is a wonderfully sculpted head of Venom where the symbiote is pulling back from the corner of his mouth to reveal Eddie’s manic face/head underneath. The next one is a full head of Venom with wicked set of long sharp teeth and slithery tongue. Last is Eddie’s light orange hair so you can see his full manic face; he’s not quite a crazy looking as his grinning smile from the Transformation Venom figure but it’s close.
Rest of his body is a bulked up frame with torso, waist, shoulder and thigh covers with large feet and hands. The hand pieces are perfect with large pointy claws with the trademark white patch on the back of the hands. I really like these types of bulky torso covers that still allow good all-around arm movement; same goes for the torso peg with cover for better leg movement too. The details on him really stand out. He has an oversized spider logo on the front and back with blue highlights showing off his muscle tone.
For accessories he comes with a long tentacle hand perfect for wrapping around another character. Part-wise he’s a customizers dream: large bulky pieces with black base figure underneath, massive hands and feet and extremely cool tentacle.
Simply the best Venom ever!

Venom (Flash Thompson)
Flash Thompson originally in the comics was your standard jock known for bullying Peter Parker. Times changed, Flash became less of a bully, he got drafted into the military and eventually became bonded with the Venom symboite and soon became Agent Venom as a part of the Secret Avengers.
He has a black slip on mask and as you can see from my pictures the eyes are misprinted too low on his head (looks like I’m not the only one that had this
). Underneath is Flash with a pretty basic expression and included is his blonde hairpiece.
His outfit is comprised of a heavy armor torso cover, gloves, boots, belt; pretty much the whole nine yards in streamline military gear. The entire figure is mostly glossy black but the white spider logo stands out well on his torso along with some grey details on his arms.
For accessories he comes with a small black handgun that fits in his leg holster along with a large black assault rifle. He also makes another good figure for custom fodder with his gear and base black figure.
Aside from the misprint on the mask on my figure, he’s still a solid minimate.

Venom (Eddie Brock)
Eddie’s back for more trouble with his second figure in this set. This time with a more basic non-bulked up figure.
Two headpieces for this go around; one Venom and one Eddie head. Venom’s head has an outstanding design with the best Venom eyes on a base head I’ve seen to date. I also love the big grin with sharp yellow teeth bared. The alternate Eddie head is a good one as well; it’s not as manic as the rest but rather a grumpy “I’m gonna get you” expression.
He comes with a torso cover that has attached shoulders; it does help make him slightly bulkier however it limits the arm movement. Underneath is a black blank. I hate to be too demanding but I would have liked to see torso detail there similar to the “Best of” Venom version to have a complete boxset perfect for mixing and matching Venom parts to make your own large/small/and everything in-between Venom. Still it’s not a deal breaker as this is still one of the better Venoms to-date. Great job on the blue highlights and good use of the smaller claw hands.
No extra accessories but you’re already getting an extra Eddie head with hair. It’s also another good figure for customizing with the popular black base parts. Another benefit from this set is mixing and matching parts to create your own favorite Venom figure.
Another high score and another great addition to any collection.

Venom (Ann Weying)
Ann Weying was Eddie Brock’s ex-wife and sadly her story only gets worse from there. The Venom symboite temporarily bonded to her to save her life. The resulting She-Venom lashed out at the men who had hurt her.
She has another great Venom head with bared teeth showing. Included is another cool looking head of Ann where you can see the black symboite creeping up from her neck. She also comes with her sandy blonde hairpiece. There’s a wonderful neckpiece with little fluid looking symboite tentacles reaching up.
Her torso has a slimmer and longer white spider logo on the front and back. I especially like that it extends all the way on the sides of the base torso. She also has claw hands and simpler blue highlights for her muscle tone.
No extra accessories other than the extra head. Again a great figure for parts to mix and match.
In conclusion this makes it 4 for 4 for high scoring figures. Definitely a box set to put on the top of your lists.
