Proof that ANY character is possible to create in minimate form, MODOK is here!! Sadly this is the last round of Marvel vs Capcom 3 sets but they are going out with a bang with some great character choices.
The box is the new expanded window box so you can see both characters along with the accessories in the middle. The character names and control art bust shots are below the windows. The sides have individual control art of each character. On the back are the mini-bios of each character along with group picture of all figures in this wave. The top shows a cool piece of art of Wolverine and Ryu up close in battle. The silver “TRU exclusive” foil mark is also on the front.
Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing, MODOK for short. He’s one of Captain America’s more popular reoccurring foes and idol of AIM soldiers everywhere. At first they said it couldn’t be done*, that he couldn’t be built but I stand here today with MODOK in hand; a modern-day minimate masterpiece marvel! So in honor of this accomplishment I bring to you the most scientific MMC review to date…
MODOK’s structure is mainly comprised of his ginormous (that’s a technical term) cranium. This is achieved by an abnormally large torso cover. There is a high amount of detail present for his hair follicles and forehead apparatus. His color palate is dispersed evenly and visually accurate to the character.
The underlying structure is a normal minimate figure applied with complimentary pigment tones to the outer cover. MODOK rests atop his mobile flight chair with an appropriate symmetrically oriented orange blast base. His chair apparatus is again highly detailed and provides a raised notch that assists in the stability of the figure.
No additional accessories are present or required for MODOK. His parts are highly desirable for integration into other custom creations.
Clearly this synthetic creation from petrochemicals is the highlight of modern science and technology since the particle separation of multi-grain carbohydrates.

Back for more trouble, this protagonist from the Street Fighter series is appearing in his fifth version in minimate form. So yes it’s a rehash but boy did they improve his look. I’ll have to update this post later with some comparison pics for you.
Let’s start with that spiky hair; back when he was released with the SF sets we thought his hairpiece was really good as far as detail but WOW! Just goes to show you how much minimates have changed over the years. The detail on his hair alone is impressive. Then you have his face with so much detail; got to love that little smirk on him.
This version instead of his shirt detail painted on the main torso he comes with a separate torso cover with his large brown beads attached. On the back of this cover is his trademark symbol (with all the years I’ve played Street Fighter I’ve never known what this symbol actually means, if you know sound off in the comments below). The only negative I have about him is the back of his torso tends to make the back of his head tip up (so he’s looking down). Underneath on his torso you have some chest detailing. The cool thing about this is you get another look to display him. I also like that his hands continue the rope design from his belt. Also neat details for his shoes.
He comes with a purple Hadōken energy blast and, just like Ryu’s
, Akuma’s has a hole in the middle that fits on top of a flight base stand. Also included in the set is a clear flat base stand for the figures.
So in conclusion this is a redo done right!
