This is the second of the two Toys R Us Wave 8 exclusives. We have a founding member of the F4 along with their first major foe.
The packaging is the standard window box with control art below the windows. The sides have individual picture of the two figures. On the back are the mini-bios of each character along with group picture of all figures in this wave. The silver “TRU exclusive” foil mark is also on the front.
Mole Man was the first Fantastic Four super villain appearing in the premier issue. He leads a Subterranea race called the Moloids. Long missing from the minimate line, he makes his first appearance in this set.
Mole Man is wearing his trademark protective glasses with a good amount of facial detail showing his lined faced and mole-ish smile. He has short black hair with nice detail.
His outfit is all green with flesh colored hands, which is just the right color green for what you expect him to wear. The torso piece is a repaint of the one from Doc Ock (Friends and Foes version). No other paint details but honestly none are really needed for him.
To make him appear shorter he has shortened brown feet with a little indention in the front. While it’s great for showcasing his height, it prevents him from having C3 holes in the bottom. Problem with that is when he has his cape on, it’s quite a task to get him to stand upright. Speaking of his cape (the downfall of this figure, literally), he has a slightly darker green repaint of Moon Knight’s cape. While the cape itself is very nice, it just doesn’t work for this figure, he’s too short. The bottom of the cape just touches the ground when standing the figure upright, so that it throws him off balance. And since he doesn’t have a hood to hold the top part of the cape down it tilts up over his smile. Best I could come up with is to lean him forward and try to snap a pic before he fell. Now if he had regular size feet and/or C3 holes then this wouldn’t be so much of a problem, but alas Mole Man’s design comes up a bit short.
For accessories he has his gold staff, simple but essential for this character.
In conclusion, his looks, color and accessory are all great (spot on for the character) but the cape kills the execution.

Sue Storm (also known as Invisible Girl/Woman) is one of the founding members of the Fantastic Four. She got her powers from being exposed to a cosmic storm and has the ability to make herself and others invisible along with projecting fields of invisible energy. This is the fourth iteration of this character in minimate form. This one being the first one with only the surname of “Storm”; guess this is before her and Reed got married.
She has more facial detail than we’ve seen for her before with softer eyes and a playful Mona Lisa smirk. Also much more detailed shoulder length blonde hair.
The torso has more defined chest and stomach detail along with the F4 logo. What’s very nice about this figure is she comes with two sets of arms and legs: one phasing set and one regular set. The regular set has the standard blue and with black hands/feet. No bulky gloves this time around. While the phasing set starts with the blue at the joint and goes to clear for the hands/feet. The phasing is well executed and the clear parts really make her look like she’s going invisible. Also having both sets of arms/legs help to have different variations of her phasing, a nice touch.
For accessories she has her invisible shield and clear flight stand. Both good accessories for the character, only negative about it would be the shield seems to be made of much cheaper plastic. Mine had a very very slight purple tinge to it and does not feel as sturdy as shields we’ve gotten before.
In conclusion, this is the best version of Sue to date. Good detail, accessories and perfect job with phasing.
