Here we have a pack containing the Man Without Fear, Daredevil (in his familiar red costume) and his nemesis, the Kingpin of crime.

Packaging

The packaging is very cool, with the Daredevil logo along the side of the card. The figures are packed in a bubble tray, and have twist-ties holding them in, as well as clear elastic bands holding their arms to their sides.

Overall, the look is very good, with Daredevil’s red and Kingpin’s white contrasting nicely with the black and light blue of the card.

The Figures

Daredevil

Daredevil1

The Daredevil figure in this set is awesome. Red dominates the colour of the figure, being the more familiar outfit (see this review for the yellow costumed Daredevil). The black markings and the DD logo are very crisp and clear.

Daredevil comes with 2 sticks, which represent his usual weapon, sadly they are not linked together, but I guess working at this scale and pricepoint you can’t have everything.

Daredevil5

They can be stored in Daredevil’s side holster – a very nice touch which adds a lot to the overall look of the figure.

Another standout is the mask Daredevil wears – it looks great on him and is also removable. Underneath the mask Matt Murdock has sightless white eyes.

Daredevil2

The side holster poses no hindrance to Daredevil’s articulation, meaning that he has full use of the 14 points of articulation at his disposal.

Overall, Daredevil is a fantastic Minimate, he looks cool, and he retains an aura of aloofness from his facial detail which I particularly like.

Kingpin

Kingpin1

The second figure in the set is Kingpin, the head of a massive crime syndicate. He is dressed sharply, as befitting someone who prefers to dominate the corporate battleground.

He has a great scowl on his face, showing disdain for all those who thwart his schemes.

Non-standard parts include both hands, one of which is sculpted to be holding a cigar, and one which has a ring.

Kingpin4

The Marvel Minimate bodies are all standard, so to create the illusion of the Kingpin’s massive bulk, he has an oversized jacket that makes him look bigger than normal figures. However, the cost of this comes at the loss of some normal articulation, for instance, it is not easy to access the waist swivel.

As for accessories, the Kingpin also comes with a cane, which he can hold in either hand.

Kingpin3

Overall, the Kingpin figure is pretty good, but loses something with the coat, as it hinders a bit of posability that the figure would normally have.

MMC Score – 6.5 out of 10
